Pete Seeger has died....
The world has lost a great Musician...Activist ...Humanitarian...
Human being... He is the Father of Folk Music in my humble opinion......
He has left us a legacy of some of the best music ever...
He is the originator of some of the best Folk songs....
"We Shall Overcome"..."Where have All the Flowers Gone"..."Turn Turn Turn"..
& inspired some of the best folk singers of the 60's.... we are so grateful...
RIP Pete...

I only saw Pete perform live one time and it was at Jazzfest in New Orleans. He and Tao were also interviewed at the Allison Miner Stage. The whole audience sang "Happy Birthday" to him. It was a wonderful day and a memory I will not ever forget.

That is wonderful you got to see him perform live...Thanks for sharing the photos as well :)
He was a very good man.
As for the father of folk music, he is right next to Woody Guthrie in my book.
He took a stand in the 50's and that's something most were not able to do in those days. I have the highest admiration for Pete Seeger, more for his stand in not giving people up than for his music. Although, his music was his philosophy and he lived it.
RIP Pete Seeger.
I have to agree Rubye...Woody Guthrie is right up there...I should have said Founding Fathers of Folk...that would have been a more apt description Thanks for mentioning him :D
