Fall Clearing & De-Cluttering...

I haven't kept up very well with my posts... summer has slowed me down somewhat & I am being a MAJOR political junkie right now  :)   Plus we are cleaning out more than we usually do....I do miss writing my regular posts so I plan to get back to it after Oct...

Fall is beautiful time and we are enjoying it but we are also getting ready for winter...It is coming...Everyone is cleaning out, picking up & putting away.. or setting up a rescued arbor leading into the woodlands...

I have noticed that many of the blogs I follow have been discussing this subject frequently...downsizing & de-cluttering...transforming your environment to bring in better energy & clear out the stuck, negative or stagnant energy that is attached to things around you...
For us, that means a Yard Sale!!!

Our clean-out started when I read the hubby a section of a wonderful little book I love called
Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston.......it was about the entrance way...I did this because if you saw the doorway into the basement you would understand... it was an obstacle course!!

The hubby believes in the Feng Shui philosophy so it is nice to have someone on the same page as you are...(no pun intended  LOL )  So the next morning he was at it, things were flying out & it didn't stop at the doorway!!  He went through all of his things...So we have been going through storage rooms, sheds, & basements.....Sale items are ready to be spread across our old doors set up as tables this week....Donations will be carted off as well...

Then we got very ambitious!!  We went around  the land & loaded up a trailer full of steel & metal.....down into our back field ...behind the sheds.....things that have been sitting around...cluttering the landscape... we loaded it all up..500 lbs worth.... & off it went to the junk guys...What a difference around the homestead...& we made some money to boot...

So now we are getting ready for the yard sale.. .It will be good to get rid of this clutter...much of it is unfinished projects, unused household items & furniture not being used..This will open a new path for new things...& this downsizing fits in with our future plans...more on that later...

So today as the hubby hooked up his plow lights on his 71 Ford truck the girls soak up the sunshine...something that has been elusive this week...

The girls seem pretty content right now...napping away...
It makes me happy to see them so happy....
'

Of course, come the day of the sale they will have to stay in the run......Madder than a wet hen comes to mind!!

Oh Yes...I have a new tenant...there has been some renovation work done..If you look through the doorway, you can see a tunnel going deep into the hill plus.....

A little side door has been added...right below the rock...The Hubby says it is an escape route.. I prefer to think of it as a kitchen door... Whoever has moved in, has excellent taste in real estate.....I am thinking more dwellings are in order...Yes???

Have a great weekend!

Linda,

The Karen Kingston book you mentioned truly is an inspiration. I really enjoyed it.

Love how you both went full bore and hauled out 500 lbs. of metal plus made come cash! You guys ROCK!

We are both on the same wavelength with our efforts. Feels good, doesn't it? Good luck on the yard sale!

... from another Linda :)

Love this post! I have a small paperback Feng Shui book, but will check out the one you recommend. Fantastic that your hubby was just as willing...wish mine was! ;) Interesting how we often associate a clean-out with Spring... I wonder what drives those of us who like to do it before winter?! Pam
