Once in a Blewe Moon

This the month in which there are two full moon...tonight and then on the 31st making the second one a Blue Moon considered to be an auspicious event...

It doesn't mean the moon literally turns blue but sometimes there is a blue tint from smoke caused from forest fires or dust particles in the atmosphere...

Tonight's Full Moon is also called the Harvest moon... coinciding with Lughnasadh which is a Gaelic festival centered around the harvest of the wheat....
This full moon is also know as the Sturgeon Moon, since sturgeon were easily  caught during this month. Other names are Full Red Moon because it sometimes look red through any sultry haze, as well as Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon...

This is the start of one of my favorite seasons of the year...veggies from the garden are ready for harvest to put up for the winter...
Good eating on those cold winter nights..

There's always something special about blue moons. As an astrologer, I need to research what it would mean or if there is any astrological significance to being born on a blue moon?!!! There probably is, but I don't know...

I was really happy about that the full moon came at the same time as Lammas/Lughnasadh!
