Moroccan Wedding Blankets

I saw these beutiful textiles over on
I had to do a post as well...these are just too gorgeous, too bohemian not to..

Started by a mother when her daughter is young.... ...The girl grows with the blanklet while being educated on her duties for marriage...The natural fibers of sheep wool & cotton are woven on looms & then embellished with fabric with talisman symbols as well as hundreds of sequins, each one sewn on by hand...the blanket is said to have talismanic power to ward off evil & to reflect the light of the sun & home fires of the married couple...

Sadly because of the growing demand for these blankets as home decor, the women now make them to sell...which puts these out of my budget...But I can dream....

These beautiful blankets come  from

A rare vintage blanket...

As well as pillows...
Can I have the chairs & table as well,
please <3

I love these! My DIL (outlaw in my case) anyway, she made one using a similar technique, only it had John Deere tractors all over it. Such a waste...
