Chickens in a Quandry

 Oh No that white stuff...

Well lets head out and see if we can find some places to scratch anyway...
 they look.....

and look....

and look....

Finally Mister gives up and heads home... the girls follow...
it is raining and icing now...

wait....one last look to be sure...

Ahhh sweet smelling hay in a warm house....
much better on the tootsies...

Yeah that is more like it...
maybe tomorrow it will be gone...
after all this is Friday the 13th...

Beautiful chickens!! Looks like you finally got some snow. We didn't get anything from the storm the other day. Just a dusting, so I ran out to take photos of the chicken tracks before they melted away!

My hens never stopped laying eggs like they normally do in the winter. I'm certainly not getting as much as I do in the spring and summer, but 2-3 a day for only 6 hens. Just wondering if yours were still laying, too.

Yes they are... I have 13.... 11 are hens and average around 8 eggs a day right now....I give my kids a few dozen when they visit... we have lights on in the hen house so it keeps them up some that is why they are laying...they slow down in the summer but I think it should be opposite of that......I am looking into heat bulbs...no light just heat..

A story of Hens, A Rooster, warmth and Hay! Delightful! Your captions were perfect and the photos stellar.

Thank you, for sharing.
