December

I always like this time of the year...not just because it is the holidays but we have just finished the month of November...my hubby calls it our "power month" as we are both Scorpios...and we had a very good one...everything seemed to fall into place after a long year of dealing with a truck that didn't want to run putting a strain on finances...but that is now gone and we are finally on an upward swing.. as well as seeing some Karmic action occurring...I can't tell you how good it feels!!

Our health is very good despite the occasionally aches & pains of aging... In January, I will have reached my 5 year mark of being cancer-free...something I am very grateful for...it has also made the priorities in life much clearer for us..

This is also a time of reflecting as well as moving forward and we have focused on talking about that... what we want to accomplish for goals in the coming year...they are simple...we need to do what is healthy for us to have success...I do not mean just financially... but personally...

Bill Cosby said " I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

I agree... people are too selfish...those that meet you on an equal level are the healthiest to be around...those that want you to bow to their every whim...stay as far away as possible...

So with that being said I am going to concentrate some of my posts on doing just that this holiday month...I have found some amazing blogs that focus on the inward instead of the commercialism of this country...something we desperately need to distance ourselves from..so I hope you enjoy the posts of making Christmas special in ways that do not involve mall dwelling as well as the DIY projects that I will be posting...

Happy Holidays!!

Oh Dear Linda what an Inspiring Post! First let me Congratulate you on your 5th Anniversary of Healing from a very serious illness! Second let me say how thrilled I am to hear that you and Family are on an upswing and seeing some great Karma coming your way! And I also want to thank you for your encouraging and uplifting words to my Blog Post today. Right now my Family is 'going through' but I know that without a Test there is no Testimony... and often during the more difficult times we are drawn closer in so many marvelous ways and learn to appreciate the simple things that can so easily be overlooked or taken for granted during times of no trials. I'm actually enjoying a more Simplified Christmas and remain Hopeful that our heavy issues will lighten eventually... until then I will allow the Lord to carry the weight that I am unable to bear, knowing that He can even when I can't.

God Bless you my Friend... I'm so Thankful for all of the wonderful relationships I have now here in the Land of Blog... in expands my Inner Circle... Dawn... The Bohemian

Linda, I'm so happy for you - five years is a big landmark! I had cancer at 28, so I know how it feels to reach those milestones.

Couldn't agree with you more about the commercialism needing to go, especially around the holidays. I raised my kids without TV which I know helped them from becoming brainwashed into our culture of ME ME ME.

One of the good things about the global economic crisis is that it is forcing people to take a hard look at their lifestyle. We learn the best lessons through hardship, don't we?

Dawn, I know you are going through tough times...and there is a quote that I always keep nearby to read and it is by Booker T Washington...

"Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached but by the obstacles which he has overcome"

It just makes us stronger against the nastiness in life...

and VG I agree about the pic... it was too good not to use on this post...
